About Chrissy
Chrissy Gonzalez is a Los Angeles Based Yoga teacher. The onset of her love affair with yoga thirty years ago set in motion an active practice that has allowed her to guide others for over two decades. Her clear instruction and uplifting spirit creates a warm and inviting energy in her group classes. Over the years, Chrissy has led multiple teacher trainings; the latest one she co-led with her mentor Joan Hyman and The School of Yoga in Pokhara, Nepal. In addition to teaching group classes in Los Angeles, she loves to travel, and has been leading international yoga retreats for over ten years. She also creates fun workshop experiences on subjects like Ayurveda, the Chakras, deepening your practice and the subtle body. She is currently creating a curriculum for teaching women going through Peri Menopause and Menopause as she feels this is an important issue that is rarely discussed or addressed in modern yoga. Chrissy loves spending time with her giant Golden Shepherd dog, Spooky. She is an animal advocate, plant based "chef", and writer. She would love to open her own retreat center in Italy one day with her husband; creating a beautiful, fun and peaceful space for people to get away, unplug and feel nourished.
Chrissy's studies began in 2002 at Yoga Works in Los Angeles. She has since completed over 1000 hours of Yoga Alliance training. She continues to study with her teachers including Joan Hyman, Jeanne Heileman, Lisa Wolford, Annie Carpenter, and others. She believes that yoga is a lifestyle, and as a teacher, it is extremely important to stay inspired and continue to learn, remain close to your mentors and devoted to your practice.
She currently teaches vinyasa flow, Hatha, Yin Yoga and Restorative Yoga.
